Calculus: The Study of Continuous Change
“Without mathematics, there's nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.”
Shakuntala Devi
Calculus deals with two basic operations, differentiation and integration, and is the tool which is used by engineers to determine quantities such as rate of change and area. In fact, calculus is the mathematical "backbone" for dealing with problems where the variables change over time and other reference variables, and a basic understanding of calculus can be studied further and used to solve technical problems. It's more practical for building essential confidence. This means that a physical system is modeled and the "rate of change" equations (called differential equations) are used to describe the physical system, perform analysis, and form solutions under defined conditions.
Calculus covers the following:
Some examples of calculus in different fields like:
Electrical engineering uses a calculus (integral) to determine the exact length of the power cable required to connect two substations that are several miles away.
In Physics to calculate the center of mass.
Statisticians use calculations to evaluate survey data to help develop business plans for various companies. Because the survey contains different questions with different possible answers, calculus can help you predict the appropriate action more accurately.
Nice
ReplyDeleteMathematics is a calculation science which is used widely in many fields like astrology and numerology.
ReplyDeleteAstrology is basically a science of reading the start values, positional, transitional etc, based on the rotation of the earth.
And therefore Mathematics is closely related with astrology.
Excellent Article
Thank you
